"Everyone’s cheerleader? What comes to your mind? A High School or College student who cheers or encourages their sports team is probably your first thought. No matter how far their team is behind, no matter how badly they are playing, it is the cheerleader’s responsibility to keep them focused on victory and the positive.
Be someone’s cheerleader. We all need coaches in our lives. A coach has a different role in a player’s life than one assigned to cheer the team. Life coaches can help an individual reach their highest potential. Sometimes they are there to cheer a person on, but that is not their main purpose. A coach has to use “tough love” – they are more knowledgeable about the area they are coaching than the player and the cheerleader.
We need coaches but we must have cheerleaders if we are to press beyond the limits we may be experiencing at the moment. In sports, most every athlete hits “the wall” at some point in time. When their body is telling them to quit and their mind is agreeing, a cheerleader may be the one who can help them go over that seemingly insurmountable wall or obstacle."
